Having a Crafty day?

We have been having crafting moments here at the Dingman house. My husband has been putting final touches on his Lone Ranger figure (though he doesn't want me to talk about it.... unsure why because it looks so darn good and I hope he will let me show it off here soon). He also has another crafting plan in the works.... more on that to come.... exciting stuff!

Crystal has been busy with life and, when home, crafting cards. I have been helping with that here and there when my head allows me to. I so enjoy spending this time with her, whether or not I am crafting with her. Here are some of our crafting moments since our last blog:

Wow! I really like this card. The maroon color is so pretty for the pop-out butterfly, the stamped front is hard to see here, but it is embossed in gold.

These are a set of five note cards. The lacy ribbons on the front will pop up as a 3D effect.

So glad you came back to visit us! Crystal and Jeff are putting so much work into the preparation of the Etsy launch. Won't be long!  Heather B Crafty. You B Crafty too!

Busy Busy Busy!

I was able to shape some roses for the card Crystal was assembling. I really enjoy the flowers. Sometime I will show different flowers I have fun with,

Here was the next card being readied to be put together. Hammered white card is matted on lilac cardstock onto a white card. This one is so pretty with the rainbow ribbon and frilly white paper bow. Crystal's design is going to allow people to pick from a few different stamped sentiments similar to those shown in these pictures. Great idea I think!

Turned into these beautiful cards, these beautiful bows are created from Tattered Lace dies. A favorite of mine! Let me know if you need more information,

Oh! Look at this beautiful butterfly card made from two different shades of cardstock and placed on glitter card! This card is designed to be a note card.

Hope you've enjoyed seeing Dingman's Things! More later!
Please leave feedback! Comments are always appreciated.

Assembly Time

Go Crystal Go! Here she is hard at work assembling Sparkle cards. Doing a great job I might add while I sit back head pounding and stomach protesting. I hope I can help do something soon! She keeps me company; I am so glad she enjoys crafting like me!

Welcome to Dingman's Things!

Hi everyone and welcome to Dingman's Things. I thought I would start this blog by giving you a little glimpse into the Dingman family and follow it up with what I am working on today.

My family consists of five amazing people: husband Jeff, daughter Crystal (in 3rd year of college), twin high school sons Brandon and Joshua, and myself, Heather (B Crafty). We are crafters and artsy people at heart. We enjoy everything from music and movies, Broadway musicals/shows and Disney trips, football, hockey, and rugby games, fishing and camping, and getting creative.
My husband dabbles in figure creating where he takes an already made figure and spruces it up, changes out pieces and parts, and creates a character he likes better. Right now he is working on the Lone Ranger. He has also dabbled in model trains, but limited space kinda squelched that from going as far as he wanted it to. My daughter creates cards with me and has dressed up amazing photo boxes as well as put together stunning scrapbook pages. She is also talented in behind the scenes theater and that is what she is getting her degree in.  Joshua is a budding artist, his drawings amaze me (I realize I am biased), and Brandon likes to build. Look out construction world!

My crafting bug was rekindled back in March after I found the Create and Craft USA channel. I was flipping mindlessly though channels while sitting home bored to tears, hurting and frustrated on disability. I am home still, but have something now that I can do when able to, that gives me joy!

Onto the crafting! The first picture is my crafting table. Its basically a drafting table of my husbands laying on top of my coffee table. Yep my crafting area is in my living room because this is where I am for my day. My craft "stuff" around me.

You can barely see what I am working on in the above picture... so here are more pictures.......

My daughter and I have been designing and slowly building some cards to put on etsy. In the above photo is the last Happy Birthday that I am cutting out before putting the Sparkle cards together. You can see some of the other pieces around ready for card assembly.

Below you will see what the cards will look like when complete. The one part that is not very clear on the second picture is that there is sparkle on the butterflies.  I wish you could see that better; so very pretty! (Also note we do know about the typo, this was the test assemble... the cut outs above have the correction)

I really hope you enjoyed this first post! More to come soon!!!
